Club Station WØRR

The American Red Cross generously hosts our club station at the Greater Kansas City Chapter located at 211 West Armour Blvd, 3rd Floor, Kansas City, Missouri, 64111.

Members of the Heart of America Radio Club are invited to operate the station as  guest operators. One only needs to make an appointment by emailing Larry Widener, KAØYJE at Larry.Widener@redcross.org.

The station is also Army Mars capable. Mike Bellinger, KØUAA is the normal operator holding the Mars call sign of AAV7BX.

The station has 4 main operating positions. Three HF and one Tri-Band 6m,vhf/uhf.

Position one is a Kenwood TS930s.
Position two is an Icom IC751 with all the matching accessories.
Position three is a Vertex NTIA compliant hf radio used mostly for digital modes and none Amateur Radio frequencies.
Position four is an Icom 2720 Tri-Band.

The station also includes two amplifiers, a Henry 2kw and an Icom 1000 watt solid state.

Antennas include a Mosely TA33 3 element 3 band beam, a loop skywire, B&W all band dipole and a Hy-gain Hy-Tower. Coaxes are terminated at a patch panel so any antenna can be connect to any radio.
